FMK's condolences

This blog thrives on its insensitivity, but now's not the time. Buried in the New York Times' article about the Yankees' win over Baltimore on Monday is an explanation of Kay's intermittent appearances on the YES Network. His mother, Rose Kay, died Monday from complications of Alzheimer's disease. FMK excuses Kay for his absences.

The announced retirement of Jim Kaat, on the other hand, should be filed under not-so-tragic losses, but that's a story for another day -- Friday, when it happens.

Hi, Nice stuff. I found a cool news widget for our blogs at www.widgetmate.com. Now I can show the latest news on my blog. Worked like a breeze.
